Deadline to File a Claim:
1 year from the date of damage
TWIA Claim Decision:
120** days from the date you filed your claim
10 days from the date TWIA has accepted your claim
Dispute Amount Paid (via appraisal):
120** days from date TWIA has accepted your claim
Disputing Coverage Denial:
2 years from date TWIA denies all or part of your claim. TWIA then has 60 days from the date they receive your intent to file a lawsuit to request ADR.
*Harvey made landfall on this day, so even if you live in the crossroads area including Victoria, Refugio, or Cuero, this is the best date to go by.
**Because Harvey was declared a catastrophe, the original 60-day deadline has been extended to 120 days.
